Contently

If you don’t have quality content in today’s marketing arena, you don’t have squat. Contently can help you fix that, stocking your company with the high-end content you need to compete in the digital marketing landscape.

The subscription-based platform combines three key components to do it. The first is access to a large pool of talented freelancers along with hard-hitting content strategies.

The second is powerful software that lets you oversee content creation, approval, distribution and performance. The third is input from Contently’s own service team, which has been helping to improve all types of content since the company’s inception in 2010.

Pros

Contently’s freelance network includes but doesn’t stop at a large cache of freelance writers. The talent pool spans some 60 countries and is stocked with more than 45,000 journalists, graphic designers, photographers and producers.

The high pay attracts premium talent, and Contently performs stringent reviews before anyone is invited to join the network.

Even if you don’t want help from the freelancers available through the platform, you can still subscribe and use the software to manage your in-house team of content creation talent.

Sophisticated analytics are part of the software-as-a-service package, which also includes a calendar, workflow tracking and management of all your content assets in a single location.

Cons

Although the freelance pool is vast, the employee count at the small company is limited to about 30 people.

That could result than a less-than-immediate response if any problems crop up. The cost is another possible deterrent, with the least expensive package starting at $3,000 per month and increasing from there to upwards of $25,000 per month.

The subscription cost does not include any work you purchase from the Contently freelance network.

The platform is definitely geared toward high-end projects and high-end brands, which is not a bad thing when it comes to content quality but could be a deal-breaker for smaller businesses not comfortable with the significant monthly fee.
